The city of San Francisco teamed up with more than 11,000 Make-A-Wish volunteers to make a 5-year-old’s superhero dreams come true.

Miles, a 5-year-old whose leukemia is currently in remission, is spending all of Friday dressed as Batman fighting crimes in his own personal “Gotham City”.

Also, his little brother was Robin.

All day Miles, as Batman, responded to various calls for help. The two Batmen were responding to a distress call from a woman who was tied up on the train tracks. And who was behind the nefarious device? The Riddler!

That’s when The Penguin headed out to face off against our caped crusader. The Penguin kidnapped Lou, the San Francisco Giants’ mascot. Luckily for Lou, Batkid chased after The Penguin without hesitation.

Following in Batkid’s footsteps, The U.S. Attorney’s office has announced they were charging The Riddler and The Penguin with kidnapping and conspiracy. Lou was safe and The Riddler and The Penguin had both been charged by the Department Of Justice. Batkid made his way to Gotham’s city hall where the mayor would be giving him a key to the city.

About

I design video games for a living, write fiction, political theory and poetry for personal amusement, and train regularly in Western European 16th century swordwork. On frequent occasion I have been known to hunt for and explore abandoned graveyards, train tunnels and other interesting places wherever I may find them, but there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that I am preparing to set off a zombie apocalypse. Nothing that will stand up in court, at least. I use paranthesis with distressing frequency, have a deep passion for history, anthropology and sociological theory, and really, really, really hate mayonnaise. But I wash my hands after the writing. Promise.
