Sacha wants to confront these icons of American culture with contemporary painters of the Flemish school. The collection demonstrates the use of 17 century techniques counterpointing light and shadow to illustrate nobility and fragility of the super powerful of all times.

One Ring Fire Ring

As huge fans of the Lord of the Rings series and one who enjoys campfires we thought why not combine them.

Using the Black Speech from the one ring as a fire ring seemed to perfect. The font glows perfectly with a nicely lit fire under a starry night.

Maps of U.S. Cities Drawn As If Of Tolkien’s Middle Earth

Mapsburgh produces delicate hand-cut paper street maps, fantasy maps in the style of Tolkien, and other cartographic art.

A few years back, I made a map of the area between my house and my then-girlfriend’s house, carefully cutting out the spaces in between all of the streets to create a delicate, lacy vision of our city. When she unwrapped it on her birthday, she took a look at it and said “You should sell these on Etsy – people would pay money for these”.

With that bit of encouragement, Mapsburgh was born. It provided a great way to combine my interest in art with my love of maps (I have a PhD in Geography from Clark University).

Cartographic cleverness.

Optimus Prime Made From Discarded Car Parts

It isn’t clear who exactly constructed the beast, though we do know it currently lives in Thailand and is made from a mixture of old car parts and seemingly, purpose-built sections of metal to embellish certain aspects of everyone’s favorite Prime.

Identifiable car parts include springs, wheels, and what appear to be oil pans forming the Autobot’s arms.
