It is always someone else’s disease.

Removals shows the most common diseases a few minutes after the operations, in a corner of an operating room, lit by an operating room light, in a kidney bowl, in two hospitals in Tampere, Finland.

These seem like the great opening to a horror movie. Possibly a culinary show, as well, for those inclined towards cannibalism.

This reminds me a lot of an absolutely fantastic art/science book touching on a very similar concept called The Sacred Heart: An Atlas of the Body Seen Through Invasive Surgery.

Via Maija Tammi for more photos from the set. Here is where I should put in a warning for disturbing imagery, but I think the above rather communicates that sentiment.

About

I design video games for a living, write fiction, political theory and poetry for personal amusement, and train regularly in Western European 16th century swordwork. On frequent occasion I have been known to hunt for and explore abandoned graveyards, train tunnels and other interesting places wherever I may find them, but there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that I am preparing to set off a zombie apocalypse. Nothing that will stand up in court, at least. I use paranthesis with distressing frequency, have a deep passion for history, anthropology and sociological theory, and really, really, really hate mayonnaise. But I wash my hands after the writing. Promise.
