Kirk McGuire is a born artist with a lifelong curiosity for nature and wildlife.

His signature trait of capturing movement and detail is from his intense love, curiosity and study of each species.

In the sculptor’s own words:

“I have always been fascinated with nature and the variety of amazing wildlife. I am fascinated in particular by the unusual and unique species. I am also inspired by the beginning of the bronze age of man.

“All of my work is ‘Hot Cast’ bronze. I sculpt in a way that shows an emphasis on balance, harmony, movement and rhythm giving my creations a ‘organic’ feeling. Every living thing has beauty and I try to show this.”

I suppose it’s a bad sign for affordability when no pricing information is listed on the website, eh?

EDIT (August 7, 2014): Kirk McGuire, the incredibly artist of these pieces, very kindly stopped by in the comments to provide a link to the pricing.

Sadly, my original assumption was true. Going to need to find a bank to rob or something, hm… If I could afford it, though, I absolutely would pick up one of these. Or two. If I could find a second bank to rob, that is.

About

I design video games for a living, write fiction, political theory and poetry for personal amusement, and train regularly in Western European 16th century swordwork. On frequent occasion I have been known to hunt for and explore abandoned graveyards, train tunnels and other interesting places wherever I may find them, but there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that I am preparing to set off a zombie apocalypse. Nothing that will stand up in court, at least. I use paranthesis with distressing frequency, have a deep passion for history, anthropology and sociological theory, and really, really, really hate mayonnaise. But I wash my hands after the writing. Promise.

  1. Haha! Thanks so much for sharing my work! By the way-I give a 10% finders fee if anyone is directly responsible for a sale of one of my tables, sculptures!

    Thanks!
