Build and Destroy Your Own Personal Solar System

The game is the work of Stefano Meschiari, a postdoctoral fellow at The University of Texas at Austin in the McDonald Observatory.

You can add up to 12 different kinds of objects into your DIY solar system, ranging from stacking a universe with multiple Earths to dropping in a dwarf star. Extra points are awarded for the inclusion of more massive objects in space, though they also up the potential to destabilize the whole thing into an interstellar crash.

There’s something there about a goal of getting a solar system to last for five hundred years blah, blah, blah. We all know you’re just going to see how big an explosion you can make, so why pretend?

Maybe I am projecting, now that I think about it…

About

I design video games for a living, write fiction, political theory and poetry for personal amusement, and train regularly in Western European 16th century swordwork. On frequent occasion I have been known to hunt for and explore abandoned graveyards, train tunnels and other interesting places wherever I may find them, but there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that I am preparing to set off a zombie apocalypse. Nothing that will stand up in court, at least. I use paranthesis with distressing frequency, have a deep passion for history, anthropology and sociological theory, and really, really, really hate mayonnaise. But I wash my hands after the writing. Promise.
